XCar takes a look back at the first Porsche Cayman

An attainable Porsche, still for the hard core

The second-generation Porsche Cayman debuted at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2012. It brought more power -- 275 hp as opposed to 265 -- but a tad less torque. The S model also grew, from 315 hp to 320, and torque was up 5 lb-ft to 270. These numbers were intentionally suppressed, so they wouldn't encroach on 911 territory.

The company did the same thing when the first Cayman came out in 2005. Video outfit XCar took a look at the groundbreaking first-gen Porsche Cayman, to see what made it so great.
